Cricket stars are also Kollywood stars now.
In their never ending search for creating headlines a Kollywood producer has roped in Murali Vijay and West Indian cricketer Darren Sammy to act in his film. The two of them will team up with the local Chepauk Super Gillies opener Thalaivan Sargunam in an upcoming movie, which is about to go on the shooting floor. They are scheduled to be part of a song titled Karthi 77 directed by John Albert who was a co director and was the man behind hit Tamil films like Singam and Sami among others. The three of them first came across each other since his days with Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sargunam says “when I asked them to be part of the movie they both agreed without a single condition.” The movie marks the debut of actor Thalaiva who is also a prominent member of the Globetrotters side in Chennai cricket. Almost all the IPL cricket teams have players who at some time or the other have faced a camera. Most of them during ads while the rest have done songs or feature films.
