Does Lakshmi Rai Think That Item Songs Are The Way To Go In Tollywood?
Lakshmi Rai is a reporter’s delight. She loves speaking out and is not bothered whether people may consider that she is trying to butter up important people. “It’s a pleasure to work with Nagarjuna in my new film ‘Damarukam’ and matching steps with him will be a new challenge,” she points out. She has heard the racy number composed by Devi Sri Prasad and loves it. “His tune is rocking and I also heard that he is making waves with hit numbers like Kevu Keka and I am game to dance to his folk-based tune,” she confesses. There is no problem with remuneration either. “They have offered me a bomb, so there’s no issue with money either,” she adds. Other than her first item number, Lakshmi will be adding another ‘first’ by essaying a female-oriented role in her Telugu film with director Kodi Ramakrishna. “I am essaying an author-backed role for the first time in my career and also I would be doing some action scenes, besides showing my histrionic skills. I was fascinated with Kodi Sir’s ‘Arundhathi’ and found him to be a great director,” she adds. About acting in the flop film ‘Adhinayakudu’, she says, “I am just two films old in Telugu, so give me some time to move up” she concludes.
