Is Ineya Leaving Kollywood To Do Sexy Roles In Malayalam Cinema?
It has come to a point that the South Indian film industries cannot manage without a steady supply of heroines from Kerala. Living in times when heroines from Mollywood cross borders and enter film industries elsewhere to court glamour, what actress Ineya has to say might sound a little strange. Shruthi Sawant, aka Kollywood’s Ineya, is actually from Trivandrum in Kerala. The name Sawant is generally of a Maharashtrian but her parents may have settled in Trivandrum. She had already scripted a success story in Kollywood before she decided to accept a role as the heroine of ‘Bhoopadathil Illatha Oridam’, says, “In comparison to the Tamil scripts I’ve been listening to of late, it’s Mollywood that has been offering me more glam roles.” So does that mean that we are going to see one of Kollywood’s village belle at her glamorous best soon in a Malayalam film? “There’s no predicting. You never know!” she says with a laugh. However, the actress, currently filming for director Thangar Bachan’s ‘Ammavin Kaipesi’ in Neyveli near Pondicherry, clarifies that she is looking for interesting and offbeat characters than glamorous ones.
