Kamal And Exhibitor’s Agree On A Delayed Release For DTH
The story of the release of ‘Vishwaroopam’ on the DTH platform got itself a new chapter. As the ‘ifs and buts’, continue to haunt people on its DTH premiere, here comes an interesting bit of news. The Tamil film will officially hit the screens on January 25 and it will be aired on DTH four days after it’s theatrical release. The meeting between Kamal Hassan and the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners Association (TNTOA) and the Confederation of Theatre Owners and Distributor’s Associations ended on a good note, as they have agreed to the DTH release.
But the DTH premiere before the theatrical release, as was announced earlier will not happen. Instead it will see the happen on January 28, four days after its release. The decision was taken at the meeting keeping the business interests of distributors and theatres in mind. Last evening, it was said that theatre owners urged Kamal Hassan to release the film on DTH three weeks of its theatrical release but with the intervention of Abhirami Ramanathan and Paneerselvam, the issue was solved with the both parties agreeing for the release on January 28.
