Rekha To Stop Playing The Heroine And Start Playing Her Age
The year of Bollywood comebacks hasn’t ended yet and the next superstar to make a comeback to the silver screen is Rekha. Rekha has been signed on to play Nani to Sharman Joshi in Inder Kumar’s next titled ‘Super Nani’.
We can almost visualize what a role of a feisty grandmother will look like in Rekha’s hands. The family entertainer stars Rekha, Sharman Joshi, Randhir Kapoor, Anupam Kher and Inder Kumar’s daughter Shweta. The film is about Sharman Joshi, the grandson who inspires his grand-mother, Rekha to do something worthwhile of her life. A role specially tailored for Rekha, will see the veteran actor’s yet another return to Bollywood. Director Inder Kumar says, “The first person that came to my mind was Rekhaji. When I narrated the script to her, she agreed immediately.
My film is about women empowerment and she has always projected that image. She had no reservations about playing a grandmother because her role is a lot of fun. I’m hoping to learn a thing or two from her. It is great fun working with Sharman as well.” The film will see Randhir Kapoor as the grandfather to a US-returned Sharman Joshi and is supposedly a social drama with a comic twist. It went on floors on December 12th and is scheduled to release by mid-2013.
