Tough times for Kamal Haasan in Sabaash Naidu.
Kamal Haasan’s trilingual comedy “Sabaash Naidu” has had a streak of bad luck in Sabaash Naidu. First director T.K Rajeev Kumar exited the project following ill-health. Then the film’s editor and cinematographer reportedly changed for reasons unknown. Rajeev was originally supposed to helm the project, to be made in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. When Rajeev fell ill and was subsequently hospitalized, in typical fashion Kamal took over the directorial responsibility. After the team started shooting in Los Angeles its editor James Joseph also exited the project to attend to his wife who had met with an accident back in Kerala. The presence of an editor makes the job easy to take advantage of technology but the unit shot the entire first schedule without an editor. We now hear that Kamal is unhappy with the pace of work under Jaya Krishna Gummadi who rumour says may now be replaced. Kamal is still under medical care in hospital. Sabaash Naidu” is based on the popular character Balram Naidu from Dasavathaaram. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Ramya Krishnan, Brahmanandam, Saurabh Shukla and Roger Narayanan. There was some talk about Akshara Haasan also being part of the crew but it has not been confirmed.
