Would Nikeesha Patel Have Made It Without Her Sexy Rain Dance?
‘Komaram Puli’ was touted as the biggest film of last year but it had a disastrous run at the Box Office. The failure had nothing to do with the film but because it ruffled the feathers of people from the Telangana area. Nikeesha Patel made her debut in ‘Komaram Puli’ but that hasn’t put off Nikeesha from trying further. She says she is determined to make her debut into Tamil cinema this year. Smart and suave, she has bagged big roles opposite top heroes in three of the four south Indian languages. But Nikesha Patel’s Kollywood debut will be different — she has signed a Tamil film opposite another newcomer Bas and if you’re wondering why, Nikesha says, “I came to India from Wales four years ago. My first film was ‘Komaram Puli’ in Telugu opposite Pawan Kalyan, directed by S. J. Suryah. I debuted in Kannada with ‘Narasimha’, opposite Ravichandran. She did much more than the standard bump and grind routine with Ravichandran which got her noticed by directors who are always looking out for bold actresses. I wanted to enter the Tamil film industry too this year and felt I should concentrate on the script and my role rather than the cast” she said.
