Kamal Haasan to start ‘Devar Magan 2’ soon

It was earlier reported that Kamal Haasan‘s ‘Indian 2‘ has been put on hold as the actor is busy with his political commitments and there were also reports that the film has been dropped as Lyca Productions has backed out of the project. Meanwhile the Ulaganayagan has recently done the promo shoot for the popular reality television Bigg Boss Tamil, which is set to begin telecast in mid-June.

While Kamal Haasan is anxiously waiting for the Lok Sabha and By-election results to come on May 23rd, the latest news is that Kamal Haasan has opted to start ‘Devar Magan 2‘ instead of ‘Indian 2’ and has planned to shoot it in one go at Pollachi and pre-production work has started. The star actor had made an announcement of the film being in the pipeline in October last year and looks like it is finally set to take off.

Sasikumar’s MGR Magan has Mirnalini as the heroine

We had earlier reported that Ponram’s next, a rural entertainer, will have Sasikumar and Sathyaraj playing crucial roles. Samuthirakani, too, came on board for the project. Now, the latest, we hear, is that Mirnalini Ravi, who debuted in Super Deluxe, has been roped in to play the female lead in the film, the shooting of which kicks off today. Ponram says, “It is true that Mirnalini is paired opposite Sasikumar. For now, we have planned the initial schedules in Theni, and it is too early to divulge other details. I had Rajkiran sir in mind for the character Sathyaraj sir is playing now. But the former was busy with Shylock, a Mollywood project which has Mammootty in lead role. So, we went ahead with Sathyaraj sir.” Sathyaraj is teaming up with the director for the second time, after Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam. The director also reveals that they have titled the movie, MGR Magan. Mahalingam Sasikumar (born 28 September 1974) is an Indian film director, actor, singer and producer. He worked as an assistant director for director Bala in Sethu (1999), also worked for director Ameer in his first two films Mounam Pesiyadhe (2002) and Raam (2005). He is best known in the Tamil film industry for his debut film Subramaniapuram (2008), which became a blockbuster. He has been praised for his crystal-clear screenplay and realism.
