Hero

Hero is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language superhero film directed by P. S. Mithran, and produced by Kotapadi J. Rajesh under his production house KJR Studios. It stars Sivakarthikeyan, Arjun, Abhay Deol, Kalyani Priyadarshan and Ivana in prominent roles. This film marks the Tamil debuts of Deol and Kalyani Priyadarshan.[1] The story was written by P. S. Mithran, Pon Parthiban, Savari Muthu and Antony Bhagyaraj. The music for the film is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, with cinematography done by George C. Williams, and editing done by Ruben.

The film was released worldwide on 20 December 2019.[2] A Telugu dubbed version titled Shakthi was released on 20 March 2020.[3] Prior to its release, filmmaker Bosco Prabhu accused Mithran for plagiarizing his story. In April 2020, the Madras High Court issued an interim order banning the film from television and streaming platforms, due to which it was taken down from Prime Video.[4][5] The ban was lifted in May 2020 once the issue was resolved.[6]

Jiivi

Jiivi (transl.?Intelligent) is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language thriller film directed by V. J. Gopinath and written by Babu Tamizh. Jointly produced by M. Vellapandian, Sudalaikan Vellapandian and Subramanian Vellapandian. The film stars Vetri in the lead role, alongside an ensemble cast including Karunakaran, Monica Chinnakotla, Rohini, Ashwini Chandrashekar and Mime Gopi. The soundtrack album and background score was composed by K. S. Sundaramurthy, while art work, production controlling, executive production, line production were handled by Vairabalan, S. Nagarajan, Vivin S. R. and I. B. Karthikeyan, respectively.[1] The film released on 28 June 2019 and was a successful venture.[2][3]

Thimiru Pudichavan

Thimiru Pudichavan (transl.?Egoistic man) is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Ganeshaa. The film features Vijay Antony, Nivetha Pethuraj and Sai Dheena in the main lead roles.[1] The film is produced by Fatima Vijay Antony under the production banner Vijay Antony Film Corporation and it began production in between February and March 2018. The film earlier scheduled to have its theatrical release on 6 November 2018 coinciding Diwali while scheduled to have its theatrical release clashing alongside Sarkar but was postponed to 16 November.[2][3][4] First look poster of the film was released on 1 February 2018.[5] It received positive reviews; while Vijay’s performance, concept and cinematography was praised and became a super hit both the screenplay and sequences were criticised. The film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Roshagadu[6], and dubbed and released in Malayalam as Ushiran.

Dharala Prabhu (transl.?Generous Lord) is a 2020 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Krishna Marimuthu, in his directorial debut. A remake of the 2012 Hindi film Vicky Donor, The film stars Harish Kalyan, Tanya Hope with Vivek in the lead roles.[2][3] The film had its theatrical release on 13 March 2020 and opened to positive reviews from critics and became a breakthrough film for Harish Kalyan and ended up as a decent hit.[4][5]

The film features Atharvaa, Megha Akash, and Indhuja in the lead roles, while Upen Patel plays an antagonistic role[1] alongside Sathish and RJ Balaji in supporting roles. The music was composed by Radhan with cinematography by Prasanna Kumar and editing by R. K. Selva. The film released on 8 March 2019. It is a remake of the 2014 Telugu film Yevadu starring Ram Charan Teja

College Kumar is a 2020 Indian comedy film written and directed by Hari Santhosh. A remake of the 2017 Kannada film of the same name, it was simultaneously shot in Tamil and Telugu languages, with Prabhu starring in Tamil and Rajendra Prasad replacing him in Telugu.
