Vaandu

Vandu is a 2019 Indian action drama film directed by debutente Vashan Shaji and starring newcomers Chinu, SR Guna, Shigaa and Allwin with Sai Dheena in a negative role.

The film is directed by Vashan Shaji, a former assistant to Selvaraghavan, and is inspired by street fights that used to take place in North Chennai in 1971.[1][2] Malayalam actress Shigaa plays the heroine while Sai Dheena portrays the antagonist. Several newcomers play the lead roles.[3] The film is set in the present day and was shot in Chennai for 63 days.[4]

Nethraa

Nethraa is a 2019 Indian Tamil thriller film co-produced and directed by A. Venkatesh. The film features a cast including VinayThaman Kumar and Subiksha in the lead roles and visualization by cinematographer A. Jeyaprakash. The music was composed by Srikanth Deva, with editing by N. Vinaj. The film, predominantly shot in Canada, began production during August 2016, was released on 9 February 2019. The film received highly negative reviews.[1]

Dhilluku Dhuddu 2

Dhilluku Dhuddu 2 is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language horror comedy film written and directed by Rambhala. The film stars Santhanam and Shritha Sivadas in lead roles, while Rajendran and Urvashi play supportive roles.[1] The film’s soundtrack is composed by Shabir.[2] The film is a prequel to 2016 film Dhilluku Dhuddu. The film finished its shoot in 40 days.[3] The film released on 7 February 2019. The film was remade in Telugu as Raju Gari Gadhi 3.[4]The film became Santhanam’s biggest hit.[5]

Sarvam Thaala Mayam

Sarvam Thaala Mayam (transl.?Omnipresence of Rhythm), also titled Madras Beats, is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language musical drama film written and directed by Rajiv Menon. The film stars G. V. Prakash Kumar and Aparna Balamurali in the lead roles, with a supporting cast including Nedumudi VenuVineethKumaravelSantha Dhananjayan, and Dhivyadharshini. The film features music composed by A. R. Rahman, cinematography by Ravi Yadav, and editing by Anthony.

Returning to direction after 19 years, Menon makes a comeback with a film that is relevant, entertaining, and inspirational in parts.[1] The film released on 1 February 2019.[2] The film was a box office success.[3]

Peranbu

Peranbu (transl.?Compassion), titled Resurrection in English, is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language film written and directed by Ram and produced by P. L. Thenappan. It features Mammootty, Sadhana, Anjali, and Anjali Ameer in the lead roles. The film’s score and soundtrack are composed by Yuvan Shankar RajaPeranbu premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on 27 January 2018, and was later screened at the Shanghai International Film FestivalChina on 17 June.[2][3][4]

The film was also selected to be screened under the Indian Panorama category of 49th International Film Festival of India.[5] The film released in theatres on 1 February 2019, receiving positive reviews from critics.

Simba

Simba is a 2019 Indian Tamil stoner comedy film, written and directed by Arvind Sridhar. The film features BharathPremgiSwathi Deekshith and Bhanu Sri Mehra in the lead roles, while Ramana plays a supporting role. The film features music composed by Vishal Chandrasekhar with cinematography by Sinu Siddharth and editing by Achu Vijayan. Simba is an experimental movie with a unique plot, with an average performance in the theaters, receiving mixed to poor reviews.[1] The film released on 25 January 2019, and is loosely based on the critically acclaimed Australian TV series Wilfred.

Monster

Monster is a 2019 Indian Tamil-language comedy film, written and directed by Nelson Venkatesan and produced by Potential Studios. The film features S. J. SuryaPriya Bhavani Shankar, and Karunakaran in the lead roles.[1] Featuring music composed by Justin Prabhakaran, the film finished production in September 2018. The film released on 17 May 2019 to positive reviews from critics, with critics praising the comedy and performance of S. J. Surya.[2]
