Naa Peru Surya, Naa Illu India (transl.?My name is Surya, my home is India) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language action film written and directed by Vakkantham Vamsi in his directorial debut. Produced by Sirisha and Sridhar Lagadapati under the banner Ramalakshmi Cine Creations, it stars Allu Arjun, Arjun Sarja and Anu Emmanuel in the lead roles alongside an ensemble cast including R. Sarathkumar, Boman Irani, Thakur Anoop Singh, Sai Kumar, Pradeep Rawat, Harish Uthaman, Rao Ramesh, Nadhiya, and Vennela Kishore.

The film follows Surya, a short-tempered soldier who aspires to serve at the borders, but he finds trouble after getting into brawls and killing a terrorist. He is given the chance to prove his worth by getting a clearance signature from a renowned psychologist, who is none other than his estranged father. Surya must curb his angry behavior while still confronting his enemies, if he wants to fulfill his dream.

The music was composed by Vishal-Shekhar with editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film released on 4 May 2018.

Geetha Govindam is a 2018 IndianTelugu-language romantic comedy film written and directed by Parasuram, produced by Bunny Vasu under the banner of GA2 Pictures. The film stars Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika Mandanna, while Subbaraju, Nithya Menon, Rahul Ramakrishna, and Nagendra Babu play supporting roles. It was released on 15 August 2018 in India and on 14 August 2018 in the US. The film released to positive reviews and was a commercial success.^[

Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava (transl.?Veera Raghava along with Aravinda) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language action drama film^[ produced by S. Radha Krishna on Haarika & Hassine Creations banner and directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The film stars N. T. Rama Rao Jr. and Pooja Hegde with Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Naveen Chandra, Eesha Rebba and Supriya Pathak palying supporting roles. The music was composed by S. Thaman.

The film revolves around a young man whose life changes after engaging in a violent fight with henchmen from the rival village. He escapes to Hyderabad and decides to stay away from violence in order to bring peace between the two villages whose people have been constantly affected by the feud for 30 years.

The film was released theatrically on 11 October 2018. Following the positive critical reception, it became a commercial success.

Bharat Ane Nenu (transl.?I, Bharat) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language political action film written and directed by Koratala Siva, starring Mahesh Babu and Kiara Advani, alongside an ensemble cast including Prakash Raj, R. Sarathkumar, Aamani, Devaraj, Posani Krishna Murali, P. Ravi Shankar, Rao Ramesh, and Brahmaji.^[ The music was composed by Devi Sri Prasad, while A. Sreekar Prasad edited the film.

The film follows Bharat, an Oxford university student who returns to India following the demise of his father, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Disillusioned by the corruption he encounters, Bharat decides to bring about a change in the system after becoming the new chief minister, eventually making enemies.

The film was released theatrically on 20 April 2018.

Rangasthalam (transl.?’Theatre’) is a 2018 Indian Telugu-language period action-drama film^[ written and directed by Sukumar. Produced by Y. Naveen, Y. Ravi Shankar and C. V. Mohan for the company Mythri Movie Makers, the film stars Ram Charan and Samantha Akkineni in the lead roles, with Aadhi Pinisetty, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Naresh, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in key supporting roles. Rangasthalam is set in the eponymous fictional village in the 1980s. It narrates the story of two brothers, Chittibabu (Charan) and Kumar Babu (Pinisetty) who oppose the village’s local government and the corrupt co-operative society led by its president Phanindra Bhupathi (Babu).

Sukumar started working on the film’s script after completing Nannaku Prematho (2016), and collaborated with R. Rathnavelu, who served as the director of photography. Devi Sri Prasad composed the film’s soundtrack and score; Naveen Nooli edited the film. One of the first few Indian films to be entirely shot using Red Helium 8K cameras, Rangasthalam‘s principal photography began in April 2017 with the working title RC11 and lasted until March 2018. Majorly filmed in a village set worth ?50 million erected in Hyderabad, ten percent of the film’s footage was shot in and around Rajahmundry.

The film was made on a budget of ?600 million, and was released globally on 30 March 2018. Rangasthalam received positive reviews from the critics who were particularly appreciative of Sukumar’s writing and the performances of the ensemble cast; they were critical of the film’s slow pace and runtime nearing three hours. The film was commercially successful, grossing a total of ?2.16 billion and is among the highest-grossing Telugu films. It also won the National Film Award for Best Audiography. A Kannada-dubbed version of the film titled Rangasthala was released on 12 July 2019.
